Benefits of Membership and Sponsorship
You would be familiar with the work of many of our members, either through our annual Building Design Awards or through your own contact with these vital specifiers.
Our Building Designers keep abreast of a changing market, by attending Professional Development days presented by a comprehensive range of building design services, controls and associated goods. “Western Australian clients demand quality, and from our award winning designers – that’s what they get!” Approximately 60 building industry companies have supported the association by becoming corporate members, many of whom have been with the BDAWA since its inception in 1985. Corporate membership entitlements include:
• Being on the mailing list to receive the national quarterly magazine, Building Designers BRIEF Australia and the state annual, Design EDGE WA
• An up to date mailing list of members
• First offer opportunities for sponsorship of BDA events • Prime advertising packages in the national and state publications SPONSORSHIP: The prestigious BDAWA annual design awards event provides a unique and valuable opportunity for sponsorship. With three distinct levels of participation; Platinum, Gold and Silver, these opportunities are limited and highly sort after with most companies retaining their level of commitment each year. Other sponsorship opportunities throughout the year, such as presentations at bi-monthly sundowners and professional development days, are also popular and exclusively offered to corporate members. BDAWA corporate members have seen tangible results in terms of increased product awareness and specification as a result of direct contact with our members. We encourage you to consider the value of a corporate membership for the exceptional market advantages it can offer your company.

MEMBERSHIP: The Building Designers Association of WA Inc currently represents around 160 members in WA and is a corporate member of the Building Designers Association of Australia Ltd, which in turn represents around 2000 members Australia-wide. In Western Australia Building Designers are responsible for over 85% of residential design and specification and an ever- increasing proportion of commercial work. Nationally building designers are a significant segment of the “non-architect’ specifiers, who are responsible for documenting around $18 billion dollars of work annually.
Occupational health, residential planning codes, building codes and worksafe issues, are some of the many subjects covered throughout the year by experts in each field. The P.D. days and Sundowners are sponsored, so that those attending are presented with an array of new products and information that directly contributes to the correct specifying of these products for clients. The sponsors also win with direct access to the designers, and offer advice in every facet of their product or service.
